Delete your Maktab account

You can permanently delete your Maktab account and personal data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and exactly what is deleted and kept.

How to request account deletion

1. In the app: open the Maktab app → tap the menu (☰) → My profile → scroll down and tap Delete account → confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
2. On the web: log in here, then return to this page and press the “Permanently delete my account” button below.
3. By email: if you can’t sign in, email support@maktab.pk from your registered email address with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify and delete your account within 30 days.

Data that is deleted

• Your account and login credentials (name, email, phone, password).
• Your profile details and notification preferences.
• Your in-app messages, notifications, and registered devices (push tokens).

Data that is kept

Your children’s student records (attendance, fees and payment history, exam results, diary, etc.) belong to their school and are retained by the school as part of its official educational records — your personal guardian link to them is removed. If you also want those records deleted, please contact the school directly, as the school controls that data.

Retention period

Your personal account data is deleted from our live systems immediately upon your request. Any residual copies held in encrypted backups are automatically purged within 90 days. Records we are required to keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, a record that a completed fee payment occurred) may be retained for as long as the law requires.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
